Mutek Limited produces a series of high performance RF/IF replacement boards for the FT736, IC251, IC271, TS700S, FT221, and FT225 that will turn any of these radio's into competition grade high performance receive systems. These boards are a redesign and replacement of the radios RF preamplifier, lossy PIN diode antenna changeover switches, bandpass filters, mixer, and IF amplifier section including in most cases the crystal filter. Low loss antenna relays, low noise preamplifiers, three pole filtering plus high dynamic range shottky Double balanced mixers (DBM's) and high quality crystal filters are featured in muTek's replacement boards. The addition of a muTek board will yield a radio with an excellent noise figure and a high dynamic range ----- performance that you could only dream of in the past.

This kit is comprised of four printed circuit boards, a 2 meter board, a 70cm board,
plus PA amplifier boards for both bands. It is designed to
dramatically improve the performance of the 2 meter and 70cm sections of the
FT-736 transceiver. In addition, the selectivity improvements achieved through
the addition of the muTek boards are extended to any expansion modules that
are later added. An optional six meter board is also available. No alignment
is necessary after installation.

The RPCB 251ub is intended for the ICOM IC251 and IC211 transceivers. It is an add in board with several coaxial and wired connections to the original main board from which a few parts must be removed.
This board features: a replacement relay, a low noise front end preamplifier, 3 pole Tchebyshev bandpass filters, diode ring Double Balanced Mixer (DBM), Local osc. buffer amplifier, IF amplifier plus an 6 pole 15KHz crystal filter.

The RPCB 271ub has been designed for the ICOM IC271. This rig uses an IF of 10.75 instead of the more conventional 10.7MHz. IF. The replacement board is mounted in the position intended for the internal preamplifier (which is unnecessary once the new board is fitted). The replacement board is linked to the original receiver board by coaxial cables and control wires. There are some parts that need to be removed from the main pcb in order to disable the original receiver and to provide connection points for the IF signal cable. |

The RPCB 144ub is the replacement board for the Yaesu FT221 and the FT 225 transceivers. It is supplied with complete installation instructions as well as interconnecting cables. The board replaces the original board in the transceiver and is the simplest of the front end kits to install. The SLNA 290s is an optimized preamplifier for the FT290R series of transceivers. The preamplifier replaces the PIN diode switch with a low loss relay and includes a low noise preamplifier with an adjustable attenuator for optimum gain distribution plus a matched filter. The SLNA 290s is designed for the FT290 Mk I transceiver and the SLNA 290s2 is designed for the FT290 MkII transceiver.
